The perfect burger...

The perfect burger is made by Doug Meyer at the Meyer Residence.  See instructions below.
1.  Invite over one wacky crew on a Friday night.
2.  Have each crew member throw their ball of ground beef at a cutting board until is splats into a satisfactory circle.
3.  Fold in one crazy lady.  Hat not included.
4.  Smack each patty for it to take shape.
5.  Grill and have happiness.

A farm kind of day...

Cousin Maddie, Elaina, Cousin Maia, and Sawyer

Sawyer had 6 of these stored in his pocket by the end of the afternoon!

All creation screams God's glory!

A birthday call for Sam from parents in Africa.  You have to kind of yell into the phone :)

Visiting a place where...

Simple games are part of every day life,

housewives utilize wind energy for personal benefit,

farm animals depend on you,
strange creatures roam the yard,
barns provide hidden playplaces,

crafts by kids are made from God's creation,

breakfast is as fresh as fresh can be,

beings of curiosity abound,

yards are made for fun,
sunflowers steal solar space,

workbenches can look like this,
you can work on your own machines in your own yard,
chores are actually chores,
little people can help no matter how small,
and long days end with a book and a nap!

Good to be with the Danforth family today!

I'm a soccer mom!

I've entered a whole new realm of American culture : soccer momness.  Sawyer is in a 3 week soccer camp with cousin Christian and my heart does flutters every time he kicks the ball :)  Proud of my little guy!

Un peu de fran├žais?

In an effort to reduce how much time he may have to do French study before going overseas, Sam has been speaking more French at home.  Tonight, he reached an all-new level of motivation and is taking quizzes on the iPad :)  Now he's pressing all of his vocab words as fast as he can to make his digital tutor rap :)

Women's Retreat...

On Friday and Saturday Mom and I had the privilege of sharing at a women's conference at Camp Wyoming.  We shared our hearts on "Marrying the Greats", or making sense of the great commandment and the great commission in daily life.   It was a powerful time of sharing the work God has done in our lives to live out "love the Lord your God with all your heart, love your neighbor as yourself and make disciples of all nations".  God encouraged me through deep prayer with my sisters in Christ.

What's a women's conference without a little fun?!
